Can I become an HHA after PCA training?
A PCA certificate qualifies you for personal care cases. Home Health Aide work needs the longer New York State HHA program, and certified PCAs can usually take a shorter upgrade course rather than starting over. What do I need to enroll in PCA training?
You must be 18 or older with a government photo ID and U.S. work authorization. Before you start on a case you also need a Social Security card, a recent physical, immunization records (rubella and rubeola), a TB test (PPD or QuantiFERON), two references, a drug screen and direct-deposit details.
